Terms of service

These are the terms between JobLoop ("we") and the business that registers to use it ("you"). By registering, you agree to them.

What JobLoop is

JobLoop is software for running a small service business: customers, bookings, quotes, invoices, payments and the messages that go with them. You use it through a web browser or the app. We run it and keep it working; you decide what goes into it.

Your account

  • You register with your business's name and can use JobLoop straight away. Taking card payments and sending text messages need your ABN, which we check first, and we may decline a business.
  • You're responsible for who you give a login to, and for what they do with it. Keep passwords private and tell us straight away if you think someone else has got into your account.
  • The details you give us need to be true and kept up to date.

What it costs

  • Your first 30 days are free, from the day you register. You don't give us a card to start.
  • After that, JobLoop is $49 a month for your whole business, or $490 for a year paid up front. Prices are in Australian dollars and include GST. The price doesn't change with how many staff you have.
  • The first 10 businesses we approve pay $39 a month for as long as they stay.
  • 150 text messages a month are included. Texts past that are 10 cents each, added to your bill after the month ends. A long message counts as more than one text, the way phone carriers count them. Emails aren't counted. During your free month, texts stop at 150 unless you've added a card.
  • Payment is by card through Stripe. Your subscription renews each month or year until you cancel, and you authorise us to charge your card for each renewal and for any extra texts.
  • If we change the price of your plan, we'll email you at least 30 days before the change applies to you.

Cancelling, and what happens if you don't pay

  • You can cancel at any time from Settings > Billing. You keep full use until the end of the period you've paid for. We don't refund part of a month or year, except where Australian Consumer Law says we must.
  • If your free month ends and you haven't paid, we email you reminders, and 7 days later your account becomes read-only: you can still see and export everything, but not add or change it, and your automatic messages stop. The same happens when a subscription ends.
  • If a card payment fails, your account keeps working while the payment is retried.
  • Paying again restores full use, with everything as you left it.

Your data

  • What you put into JobLoop is yours. We use it only to provide JobLoop to you, and never sell it or use it to contact your customers for our own purposes.
  • Other businesses on JobLoop can't see your data, and you can't see theirs.
  • You can export your customers and sales at any time from Settings > Customer & sales data.
  • We don't delete your data when you stop paying. If you want it deleted, ask us and we will, apart from records the law requires us to keep.
  • How we handle personal information is set out in our privacy policy for businesses.

What you're responsible for

  • Your customers' information. You collect it, so you're responsible for having the right to hold it and for handling it lawfully, including under the Privacy Act where it applies to you.
  • The messages you send. Marketing emails and texts need the recipient's consent and a way to opt out under the Spam Act 2003. JobLoop gives you the tools; what you send, and to whom, is your decision.
  • Your quotes, invoices, prices and tax. JobLoop does the sums you set it up to do; it isn't an accountant.
  • Not misusing JobLoop: no unlawful, misleading or harassing use, no attempts to get at another business's data or to disrupt the service, and no reselling it without our agreement.

Payments from your customers

When your customers pay you by card, that payment is processed by Square under your own Square account and your agreement with Square. The money goes from your customer to you. We aren't a party to it, don't hold it, and aren't responsible for Square's fees, payouts or disputes.

The service

  • We work to keep JobLoop available and your data safe, but we can't promise it will never be interrupted or free of faults. Sometimes we'll need to take it down briefly for maintenance.
  • JobLoop relies on other services to send messages, take payments and look up addresses. A message can fail to arrive for reasons outside our control, so don't rely on a reminder alone for anything critical.
  • We add to and change JobLoop over time. If we remove something you rely on, we'll tell you first.

Our liability to you

Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under Australian Consumer Law, which can't be excluded. Where the law allows us to limit what we owe you for a failure to meet a consumer guarantee, it's limited to supplying the service again or paying the cost of having it supplied again.

Beyond that, and as far as the law allows, we aren't liable for lost profit, lost revenue or lost business, and our total liability to you for anything connected with JobLoop is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

Suspending or ending your account

We may suspend an account that breaks these terms, puts other businesses or the service at risk, or that we're required by law to suspend. Where we can, we'll tell you first and give you the chance to fix it. A suspended business can't use JobLoop; its data is kept, and we'll give you a copy if you ask.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that affects you, we'll email your account's owners at least 30 days beforehand. If you don't accept a change, you can cancel before it takes effect.

The law that applies

These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.
